What the Portal Specialist will do:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for managing customer transactions through the SAP Ariba Supplier Portal.
  • Navigate and utilize SAP Ariba to review, respond to, and manage customer documentation, and requests for quotations (RFQs).
  • Ensure all quotes, pricing, and order details submitted via SAP Ariba align with customer specifications and company standards.
  • Manage and organize RFQ priorities based on input from sales, including following up on submitted RFQ’s.
  • Maintain and update product or service details, pricing, and compliance documents within the portal.
  • Monitor and address portal notifications and customer inquiries promptly to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and engineering to resolve potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or process issues related to the SAP Ariba Supplier Portal.
  • Provide reporting and analysis of portal activity to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay updated on SAP Ariba features, updates, and best practices to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Work with customer on any additional docs or file types needed to complete quote. 

What the Portal Specialist needs to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field required (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of experience working within SAP Ariba from a supplier perspective (required).
  • Strong understanding of quoting, purchase order management, and supplier processes within SAP Ariba.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (such as Syteline) is a plus.
  • Able to follow workflow and processes internally to achieve quick turn time and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial supply environment.
  • Familiarity with customer compliance requirements and procurement policies.
  • Certification in SAP Ariba or related systems (preferred).
