Executive Director Non-Profit

TAC is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and mission-driven Executive Director to lead the statewide operations, encompassing offices in Reno and Las Vegas, of a valued non-profit client. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all programs, fundraising, operations, and staff, ensuring alignment with our client's mission to improve the lives of children and adults suffering from a specific chronic condition.

What the Executive Director will do:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance the mission and growth of the organization across Nevada.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with the Board of Directors to develop, implement, and evaluate short- and long-term goals.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization, promoting awareness and partnerships.
  • Supervise and support program development, delivery, and evaluation in both Northern and Southern Nevada.
  • Ensure the effectiveness and integrity of camps, education programs, support groups, and outreach initiatives.
  • Lead all fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grants, sponsorships, and special events.
  • Work with staff and Board to meet annual fundraising goals and grow the financial base of the organization.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget; ensure fiscal responsibility and sound financial oversight.
  • Collaborate with accountants, auditors, and finance committees to maintain transparent financial practices.
  • Hire, train, and supervise a geographically dispersed staff team, promoting a positive and productive culture.
  • Ensure consistent communication, collaboration, and alignment across both Reno and Las Vegas offices.
  • Oversee HR policies, legal compliance, risk management, and administrative systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, community leaders, government agencies, and partners.
  • Represent the organization at public events, media engagements, and coalition meetings statewide.

What the Executive Director needs to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, healthcare, or community-based organizations.
  • Proven track record in fundraising, donor relations, and nonprofit financial management.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly between Reno and Las Vegas and throughout Nevada.
  • Knowledge of diabetes-related issues and public health is a strong plus.
  • Mission-focused and community-oriented.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership style.
  • Culturally competent and adept at working with diverse populations.
