As the Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, managing and controlling of all accounting activities of the organization. This is a hands-on role, working side-by-side with your team.  You will also work closely with the executive team to develop financial strategies and ensure compliance with all financial regulations and laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash 
  • Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records including all reconciliations and analyses
  • Manage audits, including but not limited to annual financial statement review
  • Create, maintain and implement accounting control systems, policies and procedures
  • Responsible for corporate compliance including but not limited to company registrations, corporate tax filings and conformity with Federal, state & other governmental agency requirements
  • Oversee vendor relationships including contract administration
  • Support client accounting inquiries including accounting reports
  • Responsible for treasury management including banking relations
  • Create and maintain cash management system
  • Update and maintain accounting templates in and interface between PEO, banking and accounting software
  • Lead cross-functional efforts within finance to improve reporting, planning and analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Previous experience as a Controller 
  • Experience managing/coaching/training
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in accounting, 10+ years without a degree
  • Experience in a Professional Employer Organization or similar industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Multiple EIN experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
